hiking the next day into Lumahai Beach
and walking the two miles around the crescent white beach
where Mitzi Gaynor sang in "South Pacific"

enjoying Hanalei Bay with my feet sinking into the white sands
while watching young boys surf with visions
of riding the waves of the North Shore

finding the secluded and hidden Sea Lodge Beach,
going for a swim and feeling free
like a little boy again walking along the beach
