Naked and hanging in the dominatrix's studio...

That's the scene Detective Court Pearson walks in on when he's handed his latest case. And the prurient tableau comes with instructions: solve it quickly and quietly. The victim was a prominent businessman and lingering over the details can only cause harm. But Court isn't willing to let justice fail his victim, no matter the department pressures.

And as he gets deeper into the investigation, it becomes clear the department may be applying pressure for a reason. There are hidden secrets around him, and his own personal ghosts linger from the suicide of his wife. When a leaker goes public it threatens to blow up the department, the case, and the remnants of Court's life.

To make matters worse, his new partner resents his fast rise through the detective ranks on the mistaken belief that being a trans man has given Court an edge, and his lead suspect begins to look like a target for murder. Court needs to solve the case before anyone else is left hanging.
