The last few decades have seen many global changes in business transactions which have moved from conventional methods to more digital forms of doing business. In particular, global supply chains are experiencing dramatic changes like they had never anticipated before. Not only are they now competing with the accessibility of more product choices for consumers globally, they are also competing with other developing economies as exporters to the European Union and North America (Baldwin & Lopez-Gonzalez, 2015). This phenomenon has resulted in instability in customer preferences and demands, which may challenge the manufacturer's ability to design products that are able to fulfil their needs.
