There is now much debate as to what constitutes a poem. Should the work be wrapped in many layers to the delight of scholars, or be lighthearted to brighten the day for others?
"From Small Beginnings: A stage in the poet's progress - from song to stanza" is a collection of poetry by Sean Notyeats. The author developed his poetic sensibility through experimentation, often starting with song, using different styles to address issues with a light touch.
This collection has some poems that are timeless and others that are of their time, using the framework of poetry to bring the spotlight of truth onto the printed page. It covers many topics including green issues, gender issues, geo-politics, relationships, even Elvis Presley and offers whimsical distraction for some and rich layers to mine for others.
This e-book will form the first of a number of related volumes in which the author records the highs and lows of trying to combine the stage craft of a performing poet with stanzas that make people think as well as laugh.
