A hungry man in ragged clothes seeks shelter at a house. A woman invites him in, and the proud man offers to make her a delicious nail soup. He makes the soup with his shiny nail and the many ingredients she supplies. The next morning, as he prepares to leave, the woman thanks him for teaching her to make such a fine soup.
