BLIP cartoons are moments in time, based on old sayings, Vivian's childhood, life itself, and people she has known. She drew squares drawn in pen and ink, then colored with watercolor. Not everyone "gets" the cartoons at first, hence "the Curious Mind." The first cartoons were of animals as the characters, then people popped in. There is the Chicken Astronaut, The Teen, and Granny, the all wise toothless hag, and a number of other funny characters. Even though this book was put in the kids and teens catagory, it is sophisticated humor appealing to adults also.
