Jai Chand is a name which became synonymous of a traitor. Jai Chand is XI-XII century king of Indo-gangatic plains. His enmity is well known with Prithviraj Chauhan III of Ajmer & Delhi over Sanyogita story. It is believed that he invited Mohammad Ghori to attack at Prithviraj in Tarain war of 1191-92 which is untrue, thus being instrumental in bringing muslim forces in India.Something very very far from facts. It was the court poet Chandbaradai who wrote Prithviraj Raso to propagate such gulps. Jai Chand died fighting bravely with Mohammad Ghori in the battle of Chandavar in 1194. The book outlines and weighs the historical facts so that justice may be brought to such a devout king.
