This book is a historical fiction story about the pursuit of an old west outlaw gang, the High Fives Gang, or Black Jack Christian Gang, which terrorized Arizona, New Mexico, and the northern Mexican states of Sonora and Chihuahua in the late 1800s.

The US Marshall service takes on the task of investigating and pursuing this gang, to put it out of business. Deputy Marshall Art Saenz follows the gang into Mexico, enlisting the support of the Mexican Rurales in his pursuit. Colonel Emilio Kosterlitzky, head of the Rurales unit in northern Sonora, offers to take a few men and escort the US Deputy Marshall in his investigation and pursuit. Following clues and information obtained from Mormon Colonists in both Sonora and Chihuahua, the pursuers trail the outlaw gang to the Mormon Colonies of Chuichupa and Garcia, where they discover that the gang has gathered and stolen the Colonist's cattle.

The gang is followed into New Mexico, where the outlaws have sold the cattle herd, and placed them onto a train for shipment.

The story continues as the outlaw gang commit further crimes in the Southwest, until the demise of the gang.
