Delight in the parable of The Good Samaritan, as told by Jesus in Luke 10:25-37, about a traveler who is stripped of clothing, beaten, and left half on the roadside. This story shows the importance of acting on compasion, and is voiced by the English gardener, presenter, and novelist Alan Titchmarsh. Alan Fred Titchmarsh—after working as a professional gardener and a gardening journalist—managed to establish himself as a media personality through appearances on gardening programmes. Titchmarsh was appointed an MBE in the 2000 New Year Honours for services to horticulture and broadcasting.
