Bella Stromley, known as Isabella Storm in the literary world, is suddenly faced with drama in her own life, rather than in the books that she writes. Her sister falls ill and she must fly home to Canada to be by her side, despite the objections of her fiance, Lex. As she deals with the death of her sister, she decides to move, temporarily, to Kenosee Lake, a lake tucked into the southeast corner of Saskatchewan, in a Provincial Park called Moose Mountain. The peace of her lakeside cottage is shattered when someone breaks in and despite beefing up her security, her safety continues to be compromised. As she and her new friends try to figure out the reasoning behind the intrusions, family secrets bubble to the surface, shattering the reality she thought she knew.
