Forensic pathology consultant Dr. Bodhi King arrives at a secluded Buddhist monastery for a much-needed silent retreat. But his respite is interrupted by the discovery in a nearby field of a corpse of an unknown man.
The puzzle of his death is compounded when Bodhi finds a trunk in the basement of the monastery containing anonymized personal effects, a weapon, and journal written in code. And, if the monks or their visitors know anything, well, they aren't talking. It's up to Bodhi to solve a murder with international implications.
