Foreword

Don't you just hate it when you're off somewhere, eyeing your watch as if to pause the moments, since you're already behind schedule? And then you get slowed down by someone - with all the time in the world, who seemingly has absolutely no regard for your time? Mortimer knows about these things. Wherever Mortimer is today. I'd imagine that the holiday that his darling wife Sophie, Mortimer, and their beautiful twin girls had set out on, was everything they'd hoped for. Possibly.

Synopsis

"The concept of time, as it's commonly understood by normal people with normal jobs and normal lives, does'nt exist on the road." - Tiffanie DeBartolo

Prologue

"Didn't mean to wake you, but I'd reclined your seat a bit more. The girls are fast asleep. I'll pop out quick and fill-up. We're running low on fuel. While I'm out, shall I grab a few snacks? It's still a while before sunrise?" Sophie had dozed off again while she was still debating Mortimer's suggestion for a bite to eat a tad later... Mortimer, rubbed his eyes, and having met the surprisingly cool and refreshing chilly air in front of the poorly-lit fuel station, quietly and in a single movement, descended his arms from a long well-deserved overhead stretch, while considerately closing the driver's side door - his hip lightly pushing against the slightly ajar door, not to wake up Sophie in front. The duo hiding under an assortment of soft toys, colouring books and layers of blankets on the wide rear seat, had lifted their heads at the sound reluctantly, then fell back to sleep again.
