When Tom and his driver Gada are snatched from N5 highway en route to Dadu at gunpoint, he is uncertain as to the cause. Tom, a humanitarian worker, is initially worried it is a mistaken identity, but then it dawns on him that he is just part of the kidnappers' tormenting statistics. Not only does he encounter their large network of small but well-connected gangs, but also their operation style in the vast sugarcane and rice plantations of Sindh Province, Pakistan. For Tom, it is still a mystery how he got to be in Pakistan in the first place. The mystery thickens as he and his colleagues share a joke about kidnapping in Pakistan a day before it happens.
