The Little Prince stands among the great works of literature and has been translated so far into more than 280 languages and dialects. The idea for the translation into Fiuman dialect was born from the desire to pay tribute to our mother tongue, and to establish a contact between the spoken and the written word in Fiuman, especially among children and young people. The Fiuman dialect is an important part of our city's identity, and for this reason the project was supported by the City of Rijeka, the Society of Fiuman Studies in Rome and the Italian Community in Rijeka. This has helped recognize the importance of preserving and promoting the cultural and linguistic diversity, which forms the backbone of the project Rijeka 2020 - European Capital of Culture, whose main motto is "Port of diversity". Rijeka is for us exactly that: a port in which our little prince can find a new home.
