An orphan in a school for troubled boys, thirteen-year-old Jace yearns to find a place he belongs.

When his wrestling coach invites him on the team-building camping trip with several older boys, the Cool Crowd, Jace jumps at the chance. Until one night he's stalked in the forest by ... something. But then he doesn't remember what happened.

And that's only the beginning of the weirdness. He begins to lose stretches of time. Strange dreams and night sweats plague his sleep. And the worst part: no one believes him. Did something terrible happen or didn't it?
