Now there were two cars following behind her and it wouldn’t take them long to figure out a way to trap her again. She turned down the next street she came to. This took her deeper into the city. She turned again at the next street, hoping to confuse the cars following her, or throw them off the track. When she looked back, they were still behind her, gaining speed. 

She needs to get to Ryland’s college town. She hadn’t wanted to call Ryland. She hadn’t wanted to ask for his help. But she had found herself in a complicated situation and there weren’t many people she could trust. And then there was the information she had discovered, information about Ryland.
