Mrs. Write whispers in her ear. "Everything is going to be fine lovely. They have that bastard behind bars. He will never be able to hurt you again. Just come back to me lovely. Come back to momma."
The next few days was one laced with anticipation. John never left the hospital from that day forward. He made a promise to Monica to never leave her. Leaning over the bed, John wiped Monica's forehead while talking to her.
John pulled up a chair and explained what happened that night a year ago. "I received a call from Pam when they rushed to the hospital. You had a fractured skull, broken ribs and two broken arms and legs. Internal bleeding and a punctured lung. Doctor Reynolds didn't know if you were going to make it or not."
