Lisa Watson's career as a professional photographer is stalled, so a night of pizza and movies with her best friend Debbie sounds like a great idea. How was she to know Debbie would end up targeted by a smooth-talking con man, and that the relationship would end up with both Debbie and Derek dead?

Did Derek kill Debbie then skip town? Detective Tony Cafazio doesn't think so, but he's the only one. The department is satisfied to blame the murder on the bad guy, but Cafazio thinks there's someone else involved—a man whose position in the community is so exalted there's a very good chance he's about to get away with murder...literally.
