In the dangerous outlands far away from the village that had disowned him, Aaron desperately attempts to bring his 'wild talent' under control before he is devoured by the wild Grith roaming the wilderness.

The Grith are by no means his only problem. Followers of Krendar, the malign Watchtower leader, are close at hand. The threat posed to them by people like Aaron, could mean his death, if captured.

With his enemies closing in Aaron searches for the answer to his survival and finds it in the most unexpected quarters.
