Mary Kumar had innocently attended a boring lecture for information she needed for her dissertation. She was so close to being finished she could taste it. When the guest lecturer writes something that doesn't jibe into the equation, and she notices it, her life begins to get very weird. Her advisor is murdered and she finds herself hunted.

Pran Tella is about to give up on his hunt for his mate when he finds her quite literally falling at his feet as she's being chased. He decides to protect her from the danger he finds all around her, even going so far as to move into her building.
