2015 年8 月4 日，我和爱人来到美国俄亥俄州代顿，准备侍候女儿坐月子，女婿是美国白人。在美国的三个月时间内，我随女儿和女婿去过不少地方，接触了各阶层的美国人，比较全面地了解了中西部地区美国人的日常生活和行为习惯，他们与电影或者媒体里你见到的美国人大不一样。作为一名记者，好奇、探索、记录已成为我的本能，尽管侍候月子很累，我还是利用外孙睡觉的时间，把所看、所思、所想记录下来，并结合前几年去美国东西海岸及南部旅行的经历，写出这本小书。本书以我和家人的活动进程为线索展开对美国人日常生活多个方面的介绍，个人故事只起到导游的作用，它展现给你的将是美国中西部地区一幅幅真实的生活画卷。希望本书能给那些想去美国旅游、留学、工作、结婚、生子、定居的朋友提供一个了解美国新的视角。(On August 4, 2015, my husband and I arrived in Dayton, Ohio to take care of our daughter who just gave birth to our grandson. Our son-in-law is an American white.In the 3-month stay in the U.S., my daughter and her husband took me to many places and meet Americans in various circles, so that I could get a comprehensive understanding of people's daily life and behavioral habits in the Midwest, which are very different from what you have seen in movies or media.As a journalist, curiosity, exploration and recording are some of my instincts. Although it's not an easy job to take good care of our daughter and the new-born baby, I made use of the time while he was asleep to record my observation, contemplation and thoughts. Adding to them the travel experiences in American western and eastern coasts as well as American South, I finally completed this little book.It makes an introduction to many aspects of Americans' daily life based on the progress of me and my family's activities.
