Conditioned as a small child not to feel, to lurk and hide amongst the shadows, Mara knows nothing about the world, about warmth, love, emotion. To her the world holds nothing but coldness, an impenetrable darkness that follows wherever she treads. Condemned from the moment she took her first breath, she is hunted by unknown forces, cursed for a legacy she didn’t choose, isn’t even aware exists.
