This monograph contains a general overview of periphytic algae and contextual relevance of its study in Lake Kenyir. It describes Lake Kenyir's general profile, its common morphometric features and ecological attributes as well as the water chemistry and limnological properties of the lake. The community structure, ecological attributes of periphytic algae of both natural and artificial substrates are also depicted in the book. Additionally, it includes the primary production yielded by periphytic algae and its seasonal prevalence along with trophic index and estimation of Ash-free dry mass. Seasonal dynamics and monsoonal influence are depicted by periphytic algae as mediated by artificial subtrates and its ecological significance.
