The Pilot Log is a novel of discovery, personal triumph and heroism. French Bleu, a vintage-jazz nightclub in Paris offers a reprieve to its inhabitants from death, illness and captivity. Olivier is a pilot who rescues stranded and desperate souls from famine and war torn areas of Africa, while Brie, a strong woman from Savannah must find a destiny which awaits her own ambition. The couple adopts Hawa and Francis through unique situations and off they go to honeymoon on the very island where Olivier's father started the business, back in the 1940's. The nearby island of Dorado holds the Ceremonial Cliffs, a well-kept secret, and Angie's Café, known to all. Hawa and Francis discover someone who wants to harm another and take matters upon themselves, except they weren't supposed to be there! There begins the exploration to find and unlock secrets thereby to save their father. Hawa takes flying lessons and becomes a pilot while Francis discovers the pilot log on an old plane in the middle of Africa. Adventure in the Congo can be thrilling and scary-but not as much if you've been there before. Darlene, Olivier's partner from the Bleu found her son and he is working for Olivier. He has his own adventure over a weekend in the French Alps, his second big mission.
