In this ambitious eighteenth-century sermon, Methodist theologian John Wesley covers faith of all types in a way that hadn't been done before. He discusses the faith of everyone from Heathens to Deists to Protestants, drawing conclusions about each kind. He begins his sermon with Scripture that resounds throughout: "Without faith it is impossible to please [God]" (Hebrews 11:6). Wesley exhorts Christians to be active in their faith so that unbelievers may not put them to shame and that God may be glorified.
