卓以玉，1934年5月23日，出生于中国北京王驸马胡同四号（今北京南颂年胡同）卓府，祖籍福建闽侯。现居美国。著名诗词作家、画家、比较文学教授。由她作词，陈立鸥谱曲，潘越云演唱的《天天天蓝》曾红遍海内外，成为一首具有时代性和纪念性的歌曲。1991年—1996年，获美国总统乔治•布什任命，担任美国国家文艺委员会(National Council On The Arts)委员；是继世界著名建筑师贝聿铭之后的第二位华人委员，亦是该委员会首位亚裔女性委员。1996年，被美国国家文艺委员会任命为“文化艺术大使”。本书作为卓以玉教授的首部个人传记，真实讲述一位卓越的中华女性从家庭主妇到建筑学学士、艺术史硕士、多元文化教育博士的求学之路并成为一代诗画名家的传奇历程。图文并茂呈现她以“更开阔、更饱满的生命”阐释何为名门闺秀，智美才女，以及中华女性的高贵典雅与励志精神。（On May 23, 1934, Zhuo Yiyu was born in Zhuo mansion, No.4 Wangfuma Hutong, Beijing, China (now Beijing Nansongnian Hutong), her ancestral home was Minhou Fujian. Now she is living in the United States. She is a famous poetry writer, painter, and comparative literature professor. Sky Blue Sky, which was written lyrics by her, composed music by Chen Liou, and sang by Pan Yueyun, was popular at home and abroad, became a song with epochal character and commemoration. From 1991 to 1996, she was appointed by the President of the United State George Bush, held the post of the committee member of National Council On The Arts; she is the second Chinese member after world famous architect Ieoh Ming Pei, and also the first Asian female member of this council.
