"War matters are not for children" says Saskia Verlaan's parents. But is this true? Poised on the edge of adulthood, Saskia, a 12-year-old Dutch farm girl, has been exposed to disturbing events of World War II. She wants to help in the Resistance efforts against Nazi oppression in her community, but everyone thinks she's too young. Determined to make a difference, Saskia inadvertently learns a secret. A big secret. Without thinking, she reveals the details to her friend and puts the lives of both her family, and others, in imminent danger.
