Christmas is rapidly approaching and the parishioner who typically plays Santa Claus for the St. Malachi's Christmas party is sidelined with pneumonia. When a homeless man takes shelter in the school two nights before Christmas, Sister Gabriel gets an idea—something that always concerns the other nuns. The man, who introduces himself as Mike Ryan, is willing to help. That is, until he finds out he has to be fingerprinted. He's a veteran and claims no criminal history.
