Seminar paper from the year 2017 in the subject Theology - Comparative Religion Studies, grade: A, City University of New York Queens College, course: Ancient Literature, language: English, abstract: This paper combines theology with literary analysis to compare and contrast the moral character of the Yahweh and Enlil, the two gods of the respective flood narratives found in the Bible and in the Epic of Gilgamesh. In each story, the god who created the flood is remorseful, after the fact. Both versions of the change will be scrutinized and analysed to uncover the two vastly different personalities of these two deities.
