Danny Martin was conceived a month before the second plague wave. His mother survived it, and his DNA was not damaged. Danny is among the 10% of male population who are fertile.

At 18, he is on the run from a false murder charge by an Uncle who wants him dead. Danny takes refuge in Taos, New Mexico, 250 miles north of his Uncle's ranch.

Danny found his true calling when approached by a pair of openly lesbian sisters, who are desperate to have a child. They offer to become temporary sex partners with him in the hope that one of them will become pregnant. They are both delighted to find that Danny doesn't shoot blanks.

By the end of summer, word spread in the community, and Danny has helped several client couples start a child.

A narrow escape from a pair of hard-case bounty-hunters forces Danny to leave Taos to avoid endangering his friends and clients. He embarks on a journey that will take him to new places, new couples to help, and a new life.
