I can still hear the counting in my head - one, two, three - I dropped my weapon before our enemy reached ten.  I couldn’t bare to watch the man I love be killed right in front of me.

I threw my weapon over the ledge and surrendered. We both lost our lives that day to a hellacious prison.  I was rescued, but Kell didn’t survive, or so I thought.

Thinking the only man I had ever loved was gone, physically I existed, but my heart died with him.  Every day I would put on a cool mask of indifference in order to continue living, focusing on saving others.

Then one day, out of the blue, I get word that there is a possibility Crew is still alive. I will risk anything to save him and I mean anything.

If he’s still out there, he’s not the same man. No one could come out of that prison the same. I know I didn’t.  What if he doesn’t love me anymore?  Will I have to lose him again, if I rescue him?  That’s a chance I’m willing to take.
