Mel Vaughn is slowly working to pick up the pieces and get her life back together.  She’s already landed a job at Hoshi Electronics, a prestigious company that could open a lot of doors for her.  Everything seems to be going well, except for the fact that she is hopelessly attracted to the CEO, Carter Byron.  Even worse, there is no avoiding Carter.  After sitting in on a marketing meeting, he takes an interest in her ideas.  Then he takes an interest in her.  Mel ends up falling for his charms, and they share a moment of passion in Carter’s office.  Mel is sure that it’s a one-time thing, but the CEO has other plans. 

Things get more complicated when Mel’s boss suspects her of becoming intimate with Carter.  As if that isn’t enough, a ghost from her past returns to haunt her.  Mel can’t seem to escape her old life, and now she’s wondering if the new one she’s started is going to come crashing down around her.
