An alien contacts three children. The alien has crashed into a lough in Donegal Ireland. Its safety craft, that it has lain in for over a thousand years, is surfacing.
Each of the contacted children is intelligent. The boys are lonely. Paul is very overweight. Conor's father is dead. Sarah is a computer genius. Robert unites them by asking them to help him get to the top of Errigal, the highest mountain in Donegal. There his parents are to come from a galaxy billions of miles away for him.
