A thief turned assassin, Kyndris is possessed by a dark entity, cursed with a lethal touch. Tasked with claiming one victim per night if she wishes to live, and knowing full well that if she dies the entity will only claim another, she agrees on one condition—no killing her family or those of the lower city.
With the High Council, the rich who only grow richer, and their selfish laws in her sights, Kyndris goes to work, sparing all others her touch. But when her victims take to hiding indoors and suspect her small band of thieves for her crimes, she must find another way to pay the entity's price, even if it means sacrificing herself to save her own family—the citizens of the lower city.
