Ruby needs to make a fresh start. She's twenty-six years old, living at home and picking up temporary work when she can. Things need to change. So when Ruby gets a job offer she jumps at it, only thing is, it means a move four hundred kilometres from home and from her friends. Allenby looks like a nice country town, somewhere to settle in and make some new friends, maybe even meet a man, eventually. Lord knows it's been a long time between drinks as far as boyfriends are concerned. And that's something that Ruby wouldn't mind changing.

James is looking to make some changes too. He's taking steps to make up for things he missed out on in the past, and he's looking to change his future. Things are on track too, until he meets Ruby, then everything changes. Right from the start, James knows that Ruby is the girl for him. Everyone else knows it too.
