In addition to the perils they will face abroad, secret plans are afoot on the home front in Utah and Chanulville. Blaine Warnock, Claudette Alberteau, and the other ex-Chosen Ones show up in Valley View to disrupt the everyday lives of the Chosen Ones, while Lord Rayo enlists the services of Gooze, a mysterious Soul Freezer that lives in the mountains of Chanulville.
