Two men both named John Carter,one an attorney the other a respected sheriff take on cases involving heinous crimes. The stress of each case takes a deep toll on their psyches. When they happen his alter ego the sheriff emerges from a parallel universe. Neiither man is aware of the other and theeir paths never cross becuase they are the same individual.
