Henry Branson is a middle-aged Baby Boomer who is tired of being ridiculed by the technology-geek youngbloods. Try as he might, Henry just can’t keep up, so he starts his own company. This is an act of revenge. He’ll show those bastards what he can do. Henry doesn’t need them, and he will show them.
But it all goes south. Henry’s American Dream turns into a nightmare. So he decides to ratchet up the revenge. Revenge, Henry decides, is best served bloody. There has to be pain. There has to be blood. Those people who hurt Henry are going to pay the price. Their bill is due and Henry is going to collect, big time. Workplace violence? This is going to workplace slaughter.
Henry never thought of himself as a killer, a homicidal maniac, or certainly a psychological basket case. But when his American Dream turns into a nightmare, Henry decides it is time for payback in the form of blood-soaked revenge unleashing hell and horror upon St. Isidore with a crime that even people who live with the Suicide Forest in their backyard can't believe.
Revenge Is Best Served Bloody: A Short Story of Workplace Violence is one of the Stories of St. Isidore From the St. Isidore Collection.
