Caitlin Ford is a young professional poker player. Unfortunately, while playing in an underground poker room in Dallas she is shot when three guys with shotguns rob the illegal room. Her calf is shredded and she is taken to the hospital. It will take a long time for her to recover the use of her leg and she faces a painful rehab. Caitlin’s girlfriend leaves her as she is about the get the cast off and she’s left with the services of a professional care giver until she can at least drive on her own. Her care giver is also a lesbian but with a past that she’s determined not to repeat. Cate needs to get healthy, keep playing poker to pay the bills, and keep her hands off her care giver. Keeping her hands off her care giver is the hard part. Her care giver is gorgeous. They manage to live together through some bumps and bruises and a couple of mistakes on both their parts while Cate is healing but the sexual tension builds on a daily basis. There are ex-girlfriends getting in the way. There is the pain of physical therapy. There is the very real emotional trauma of being dependent on another human being along with depression that often accompanies that. There is sex with a friend and jealousy. There are past indiscretions that must not be repeated. And there are professional lapses that also must not to repeated.
