Gary Sanders is a back-up quarterback at USC. Because of an injury to the first string quarterback in the very first game, he is thrown into the limelight. Gary comes into the game and saves the day, in fact he starts a season with no defeats, his team is in the running for the national championship. Then an injury of his own causes him to enter the world of drugs. During this time, he meets Alex, mother of his classmate Sherry. She provides him with pain killers and eventually their lives began to be intertwined. Gary moves in with Alex and they become romantically involved, even though she is twenty years older than he is.His life becomes a mess when Alex disappears before two key games. No one really seems interested in finding her. It falls on the shoulders of Gary and Sherry to find Alex, which leads them to the incredible web of the mafia. Follow Gary as he looks for Alex and he also must play football as everyone is depending on him. Is he big enough to win it all?
