This poem is inspired by Malia Obama, who can stand as a symbol of challenge, who dared to overcome barriers of race to book a place in the book of history. She is the hope of a new black generation in America.Malia fills the dreams of our childrenAs their black CinderellaWho disperses light over all placesAnd inspires them to ride seas, lands and spacesWith big dreams and smiling facesMalia is the symbol of freedomWho dared to put backThe dark history of her raceAnd started a new raceWith dignity and full graceThe White House was once a symbol of tyrannyBuilt by Hundreds of blacksTheir blood was mixed with blocksEach stoneHas a story of its ownUnder whipsAnd kicks on the hipsMen and women of the black raceWere to raceUnder the sunOr under winter's graceThey had to raceTo placeAnd replaceOne block over one blockAnd a stoneOver a stoneAnd mix their black blood with cementTo raise a mansionFor the white masterIn the White GarrisonBut now this has all become your ownThe palace is now all yoursBuilt by your own raceWho dug deeply in earthTo build a rooted baseAnd decorated the White House's faceTo enable you play happily and freelyAnd fill all the space with joy and peaceAnd then trace historyTo sweep all the miseryOf your old African race
