Thomas Morus (7.2.1478 - 6.7.1535) war ein englischer Staatsmann und Autor. Er ist heute noch bekannt für sein 1516 veröffentlichtes Werk „Utopia" in welchem er eine ideale Gesellschaft schildert. Die erste deutschsprachige Übersetzung seines Werkes erschien bereits 1524.
