Teenager Kaitlyn Wolfe, of First Nations descent, almost died in a racially motivated drugging. To her dismay, the perpetrator only received probation. However, Kaitlyn overcomes this tragedy, as well as growing up without her father — a policeman killed in the line of duty — to graduate as a lawyer, then to become an Assistant Crown Attorney. Hired as a prosecutor, in Vaughan, Ontario, Kaitlyn faces off with defense attorney Maxine Swayman over two related cases: one a murder and the second a failed armed robbery.
