南宋著名诗人陆游年轻时与表妹唐琬相爱,但因母亲的反对,两人被迫分离。十多年后,陆游与唐琬在沈园偶然相遇,两人深感景物依旧,人事全非,对当年被迫分手的往事感叹不已。陆游写了一首«钗头凤»词,赠与唐琬,唐琬也回赠一词。不久,唐琬抑郁而死。
