The report gives specific data for how scholars feel about the efforts of their Offices of Research, the University Library, Department of Information Technology, University Public Relations, the Institutional Digital Repository and other departments in publicizing faculty research. The study also imparts data and commentary on what faculty think of their activity reporting systems, what kinds of systems are in use, and what can be done to improve such systems. If offers detailed information on how often faculty update their profiles and how often they use the faculty reporting system for their own purposes. The survey data is based on a survey of more than 500 scholars drawn from more than 50 major research universities in the USA, Canada, the UK, Australia, New Zealand and Ireland.
