Wardle, in an interrogatory yet easy to understand manner, dissects the concept of legal guilt. This 'Overview', is narrated in a dramatic and enchanting fashion. Wardle penned the 'Overview' at the start of the period referred to in centuries gone by, as the 'Festival of Saturnalia'. In it, Wardle is the Saturnalicious Princeps or the Slave Queen, giving the gift or sigillaria to members of society, legal professionals, judges, and everyone else in between, as a bone to chew on. It is well-researched and sets the tone for the ten codices to follow. The author is a graduate who holds three law degrees - an Intermediate Degree Qualification in Criminal Justice Administration; a Bachelor of Laws Degree (LLB); as well as a Master of Laws Degree (LLM). Wardle was also registered towards a Doctor of Laws Degree (LLD) and in February 2017, she was credited for having passed the Doctoral Research Proposal in Law, in partial completion of the LLD Degree. The title of Wardle's dissertation was 'The Presumption of Innocence and the Burden of Proof in Criminal Procedure in the South African Context'. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, Wardle could not complete the said degree and opted instead, to publish the unmarked and unevaluated dissertation, as a series of law codices under the title, 'The Athenaeum Revisited: The Standard of Proof - Beyond Reasonable Doubt'.
