Talai wasn't angry, she was furious. It was true they'd made no commitment to each other, but their relationship had been building toward something. She was sure of it until she had walked into the emergency shelter and seen that female in his arms. It was a sight difficult to forget and goddess knows she'd tried. Maybe she was just meant to be alone and help others with their children.
He was innocent and he'd been wrongly convicted in the court of unfortunate circumstances. Talai refused to talk to him much less explain what had happened. That female had taken it upon herself to offer something he didn't want and now he was suffering for it. As much as he hated to admit it, Shay was right and he should have taken Talai the day he'd met her.
Was there any way things could ever work out between these two stubborn people? It would be a hard journey but if they would both open their hearts, anything was possible.
