A Viennese comedian, Henrich, wins every evening a considerable success in the role of the Demon. One night, however, at the two-headed Gasthof Eagle, a stranger disputes the truth of his interpretation and, to convince the audience, starts with a truly diabolical laugh.A few days later, the same man emerges during an intermission in the backstage of the theater, makes Henrich disappear and replaces him on the stage: the whole room cheers his dazzling game.
