The book, INDIA AND HERNEIGHBOURS : TOWEARDS A PROACTIVE PARTNERSHIP, analyses the emerging contours of India's foreign policy vis-a-vis its neighbours. India needs a closer relationship with its immediate neighbours as the small countries in the neighbourhood consider India as a viable partner. Focusing on the re-orientation of the Indian foreign policy in the context of its neighbours: Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh Sri Lanka, Maldives, Afghanistan and Pakistan, the book highlights facets of relationship with national interests as the central foci. The book is likely to generate academic, scholarly and public debate with particular emphasis on India's dealings with her neighbours. The book provides a new vista and a possible paradigm shift which may have implications for the South Asian regional architecture and beyond.
