The following homemade recipes are a collection of my favorites regularly made by Mom while growing up during the 1960s and 1970s in Colorado and Idaho, in a household where we sat at the table as a family for almost every meal—at least until we were teenagers and Mom went to work. There's a little story with some of the recipes: either my own thoughts about the recipe itself, or how or why I included it, or how it affected me and/or my family. There are also some photos, but not with every recipe and not all are of food. I wanted to write a cookbook that was different than what's available out there, and I hope you enjoy my style.
